Join Council Member Althea Stevens, NYC Parks Department, and helpNYC for an afternoon of Disco Dancing and meet the helpNYC Outreach Team celebrating the 175 Anniversary of the opening of the Highbridge Connector!

A, C, 1 trains to 168th Street Station OR M2 to W 165 St/Amsterdam Av OR M101 to Amsterdam Av/W 165 St

Enter the Sunken Playground on Edgecomb Avenue at 165th Street.  Walk the bike path to Highbridge Park. Walk across the Highbridge Connector to the event.

A, C, 1 trains to 168th Street Station or M101 Bus to Amsterdam Av/W 173 St

Enter the Highbridge Recreation Center grounds on Amsterdam Avenue at 174th Street.  Take the path past the recreation center and pool.  Walk down the stairs to Highbridge Park. Walk across the Highbridge Connector to the event.

Bx13 bus to Plimpton Av/W 170 St or Ogden Ave/University Av

Enter Highbridge Park at University Avenue/MLK between 170th Street and Merriam Avenue.

On International Overdose Awareness Day, we will meet at Foley Square for a rally and march to the US Attorney Williams' office for a demonstration to demand lifesaving, evidence-based Overdose Prevention Centers are authorized and supported by our elected officials, not criminalization.

Renowned Entertainer, Community Leader, and Drag Queen Candy Samples returned to host, the 5th Annual Drag BINGO with Candy Samples, a fundraiser for helpNYC on Saturday, August 19, at 7:00p in St. Benedict's Garden at St. John's in the Village 224 West 11th Street at Waverly Place, West Village, Manhattan. 


The event raised $ 1,229.54 for the 2023 Summer in New York fundraising campaign.  All proceeds go towards the work of helpNYC.
